10-Day Vietnam + Thailand Golf Journey: The Ultimate Dual-Destination Itinerary

By Asia Golf Specialists·15 April 2026·12 min read

Two countries. Six championship rounds. One of Asia's great golf journeys. The Vietnam + Thailand dual-destination circuit is the trip serious golfers plan for years — and the itinerary AGS designs more than any other single request.

What follows is our benchmark 10-day blueprint: 5 nights in Da Nang / Hoi An anchored by Hoiana Shores and Ba Na Hills, connecting through Bangkok, then 4 nights in Hua Hin at Black Mountain and Pineapple Valley. Every element is adjustable.

The Routing

Day 1–5 (Vietnam): Fly into Da Nang International Airport → Private transfer to An Bang Beach villa → Golf: Hoiana Shores (Day 2), BRG Norman Course (Day 3), Cultural Day Hoi An (Day 4), Ba Na Hills Night Golf (Day 5)

Day 6 (Transit): Morning flight Da Nang → Bangkok Suvarnabhumi → Private transfer to Hua Hin (2.5 hours) → Resort check-in, welcome dinner

Day 7–9 (Thailand): Golf: Black Mountain (Day 7), Pineapple Valley golf club (Day 8), Springfield Royal or rest day (Day 9)

Day 10 (Departure): Transfer to Bangkok → International departure to Australia

Vietnam Leg: Da Nang 5-Night Circuit

Day 1: Arrival at Da Nang

Arrive Da Nang International Airport. Private transfer to An Bang villa. Check-in, pool time, settle in. Welcome dinner at the An Bang beach strip — The Beach Bar or Streets Restaurant for the freshest produce Vietnam has to offer.

Day 2: Round 1 — Hoiana Shores Golf Club

7:00am tee time at Hoiana Shores — Vietnam's undisputed number one and the centrepiece of any Da Nang trip. Trust the caddies on this course; local knowledge is essential on the links-influenced layout. Lunch at the Hoiana clubhouse, afternoon at the villa, dinner in Hoi An Ancient Town.

Day 3: Round 2 — BRG Norman Course

Greg Norman's accessible resort layout offers the contrast to Hoiana Shores' demanding links challenge. Wide fairways, excellent conditioning, strong caddie service. Afternoon: optional spa at the Four Seasons Nam Hai or Banyan Tree.

Day 4: Cultural Day

Hoi An Ancient Town sunrise, Red Bridge Cooking School, Thu Bon River boat trip, or My Son morning tour. The cultural day ensures the group arrives in Thailand refreshed rather than fatigued from 5 consecutive golf days.

Day 5: Ba Na Hills Night Golf (Farewell Vietnam)

Morning: villa pool. Afternoon: private transfer to Ba Na Hills. 5:30pm tee time — the Vietnam finale under floodlights at 1,500m elevation. Return to villa. Farewell Vietnam dinner.

Thailand Leg: Hua Hin 4-Night Circuit

Day 6: Transit — Da Nang → Bangkok → Hua Hin

Morning flight to Bangkok (typically 2 hours). AGS private transfer meets you at Suvarnabhumi for the 2.5-hour coach to Hua Hin. Check in to your Hua Hin resort (Chiva-Som, Intercontinental, or Evason recommended). Evening: Hua Hin Night Market for local seafood.

Day 7: Round 4 — Black Mountain Golf Club

Black Mountain is Thailand's finest course and the anchor of every AGS Hua Hin circuit. The Black Mountain backdrop, undulating fairways, and exceptional caddie team make this a week-highlight contender even after Hoiana Shores. Morning round, clubhouse lunch, afternoon recovery at the resort spa.

Day 8: Round 5 — Pineapple Valley golf club

Pineapple Valley provides the natural Black Mountain pairing — elevated tee boxes, Gulf of Thailand views, and Schmidt-Curley design that rewards the strategic player. Morning round, afternoon at leisure. Farewell dinner: Hua Hin waterfront.

Day 9: Rest / Optional Round 6 — Springfield Royal

Jack Nicklaus design — the third piece of the Hua Hin championship triple. Or: morning at the Hua Hin beach, afternoon transfer to Bangkok for the final night before departure.

Day 10: Departure

Private transfer Bangkok → Suvarnabhumi → International departure. Melbourne, Sydney, or Perth direct with Thai Airways or Qantas codeshare.

This is the trip. If you're serious about Southeast Asia golf, this is the benchmark to build from. Explore the Vietnam hub and Thailand hub, or contact AGS to begin designing your version.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I combine Vietnam and Thailand golf in 10 days?+

Yes — 10 days is the ideal minimum for a meaningful Vietnam + Thailand dual-destination golf trip. AGS recommends 5 nights in Da Nang / Hoi An (3 golf rounds) and 4 nights in Hua Hin or Phuket (3 golf rounds), with the connecting flight typically via Bangkok.

What is the best routing for a Vietnam + Thailand golf trip?+

AGS's preferred routing is Da Nang → Bangkok → Hua Hin or Phuket. Fly into Da Nang, play the Central Coast for 5 days, fly to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang), and transfer to the golf region. Return from Phuket or Bangkok direct to Australia. This avoids backtracking and uses Bangkok as a natural pivot.

Which Thailand region works best with a Da Nang Vietnam combination?+

Hua Hin is AGS's preferred pairing with Da Nang. The driving distance from Bangkok to Hua Hin (2.5 hours) makes it logistically seamless from the Bangkok connection, and the Hua Hin course quality (Black Mountain, Banyan, Springfield) is world-class. Phuket is a strong alternative for groups who want beach resort lifestyle alongside golf.

Is 10 days enough to do both Vietnam and Thailand justice?+

10 days gives you a meaningful experience in both destinations — 3 rounds in each country is a satisfying circuit. To go deeper (5 rounds in each country), plan for 14 days. AGS designs itineraries at both lengths and recommends the 14-day version for dedicated golf travellers.

How much does a 10-day Vietnam + Thailand golf trip cost per person?+

A premium 10-day dual-destination trip (3 rounds each country, private villa + resort accommodation, all transfers) typically costs AUD $5,500–8,000 per person for a group of four, excluding international flights. See our Vietnam cost breakdown and request a full Thailand quote from AGS.
