Da Nang has earned its place among the world's elite golf destinations. This Central Vietnamese city — perched between the South China Sea and the Trường Sơn mountains — is home to four of Vietnam's finest championship golf courses within a 30-minute radius, all available through a single curated itinerary with Asia Golf Specialists.
If you're planning a luxury golf trip to Southeast Asia, Da Nang belongs at the top of your shortlist. Here's everything you need to know.
Why Da Nang Has Become the Capital of Vietnamese Golf
Three factors have made Da Nang the country's premier golf hub. First, the course quality: designers of the calibre of Robert Trent Jones Jr., Nick Faldo, and the late European design movement have created genuinely world-class layouts here. Second, the infrastructure: international direct flights from Australia (via Singapore, Bangkok, or Ho Chi Minh City) and a mature five-star resort ecosystem mean logistics are seamless. Third, the value: green fees and villa rates at Da Nang's finest properties remain significantly more accessible than comparable experiences in Thailand or Bali.
The Four Signature Courses
Hoiana Shores Golf Club
Vietnam's first true links course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. on a dramatic dune landscape adjacent to the East Sea, Hoiana Shores plays to 7,309 yards from the back tees and demands creativity and course management throughout. The closing stretch along the beach is among the finest in Asian golf. Consistently ranked Vietnam's number-one layout.
Ba Na Hills Golf Club
Designed by Luke Donald on a mountain plateau at 1,500 metres elevation, Ba Na Hills offers something that no other Da Nang course can match: night golf. Fully floodlit from 5:30pm, the experience of playing a Luke Donald design in the Vietnamese highlands after dark is genuinely extraordinary. The course also plays beautifully by day, with panoramic mountain views on every hole.
Montgomerie Links
Colin Montgomerie's signature design on the Central Coast places a Scottish-influenced links course in a Vietnamese coastal setting. Elevated tee boxes, undulating fairways, and the area's characteristic coastal winds make Montgomerie Links a tactical test that rewards course management over power.
BRG Đà Nẵng Golf Resort
The former Danang Golf Club, redesigned by Greg Norman into a 36-hole facility, BRG is the most established of the Da Nang courses with excellent conditioning and a classic resort golf feel. The Greg Norman Course is the standout layout — open, strategic, and forgiving enough for mid-handicappers while rewarding low-handicappers who attack.

Best Time to Visit Da Nang for Golf
February through September is Da Nang's prime golf window. The March–May window is the sweet spot — dry, warm (26–30°C), and uncrowded. See our full Vietnam golf season guide for month-by-month detail.
Where to Stay: Villas vs Resorts
AGS recommends private villas for groups of 4+ — price per person is comparable to resort accommodation but offers complete privacy, a private pool, and villa staff. Our An Bang villa portfolio places groups minutes from Hoiana Shores and adjacent to Vietnam's finest boutique dining strip.
For couples or smaller groups, the Hoiana resort precinct — anchored by the New World Hoiana Hotel — offers five-star facilities with direct course access. The An Bang Holiday Villa is our flagship villa property for the Da Nang circuit.
